It has been a while since the last Pirate adventure and we are all looking forward to this one. Taking on directing this time will be Rob Marshall, but Johnny Depp is still Jack Sparrow.
The series is of course built on the shoulders of Johnny Depp, because the stories otherwise don’t stand out with anything special. What people go to the cinema to see, is the rum-fuelled fun-loving character that Mr. Depp so effortlessly portrays. This is not the role where his acting talent is given a chance to shine to the fullest, but even his average is well above most actors. Alongside him we will see Ian McShane and Penelope Cruz. This is movie is all about adventure, while presenting situations with serious stakes, it is always light-hearted and never tough on the viewer, when we watch Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides online. About as important as Johnny Depp is the setting, the warm blue Caribbean Sea. Who wouldn’t want to be a pirate in those waters? If we add some rum and Penelope Cruz, the picture gets even better. In a way, Pirates of the Caribbean is a classic tale of adventure and valour, like the Musketeers or something similar. As we watch Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides online, we can live through our own desires and fantasies about being a pirate and living a life full of excitement and danger. These movies shouldn’t be looked at like cinematic art, but more like fun park rides at the carnival. The theme is pirates and you can get into your little car, sit back and enjoy the different figures and effects thrown at you. Then the ride ends and you can go on to your next activity in life. However, they are beginning to reach their limit with this theme, so I hope this will be the last picture about Pirates of the Caribbean. It would be sad to see Johnny Depp in the 7th edition of the adventures of the pirates for example, trying to milk the image to the last cent. I don’t judge him for taking this role though, every actor has more simple roles in his career and I don’t imagine many people playing this part as well as him. Go and watch Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides, enjoy the performance and the Caribbean vibes and don’t worry about your life’s problems.
